McDonnell & Associates has extensive experience representing employers as they navigate ever-changing employment challenges. These matters include investigating charges of discrimination, responding to attorney demands, and defending litigated matters in state and federal court. Our employment group has successfully defended employers against a wide array of allegations, including but not limited race, sex, gender expression, age, religious, disability, and pregnancy discrimination; hostile work environment; sexual harassment; unlawful retaliation; wrongful discharge; medical leave interference; failure to accommodate; discrimination based on medical cannabis use; and wage inequity.

In our experience, most employers seek to avoid litigation and prefer to resolve claims with their current and former employees amicably. Therefore, a significant part of our practice also includes counseling employers to ensure their internal policies and procedures are consistent with the law, advising them how to resolve employment disputes, and guiding them through alternative dispute resolution such as mediation or Court-sanctioned settlement conferences. We have prepared Employee Handbooks and training materials for our clients to ensure they are staying apprised of the evolving law and relaying crucial information to their employees, both to avoid potential lawsuits and protect their interests in the event any claim should arise.
